Nigde Omer Halisdemir University Elderly Care Program started admitting students in 2012-2013 academic years. It is a two-year program consisting of four semesters with 30 ECTS Credits. An ECTS refers to 30-hour workload of a student each semester. The academic staff of the department consists of  1 Assoc. Prof., 1 Assistant Prof. and 2 Lecturer .

In the first year of Elderly Care Program, the students take courses including Principles and Practices of Elderly Care I and II,  Medical Terminology I and II, Anatomy, Physiology, Basic Gerontology, Pharmacology, First Aid, Communication in Healthcare, Occupational Health and Safety, Research Project I and Nutrition of Elderly.

In the second year, the students take courses including Knowledge of Diseases and Care, Professional Practice I and II, Medical Deontology and Ethics, Research Project II, Wound Care and Occupational and Activity Therapy.
The graduates, having satisfactorily completed the programme and also the 30-working-day internship are entitled awarded with associate diploma in the field of ''Elderly Care Technician''
