Examinations

The success of students in achieving the intended learning outcomes of each course unit within the Green and Ecological Building Technology Program curriculum is assessed through in-term activities and final examinations conducted at the end of each semester.

The assessment of in-term activities includes, as required by the regulations for associate degree programs, at least one midterm examination, one assignment, and one quiz as mandatory evaluation methods.

Programs are encouraged to define additional assessment methods in in-term activities when necessary to better measure the achievement of program and course-level learning outcomes in line with their educational objectives and goals.

For each course, the type and number of assessment methods, as well as their weightings in the final grade, are provided under the “Assessment and Evaluation” section of the course descriptions.

In determining the final course grade, the contribution of in-term activities may constitute a maximum of 40%, while the final examination must account for at least 40% and at most 60%, as stipulated by the university regulations applicable to all undergraduate programs.

Courses such as internships or work placements, which do not require a midterm exam, assignment, quiz, and/or final examination, are determined by the respective department administrations. The specific assessment and grading methods for these courses are announced through the channels described above. The evaluation of such activities is carried out in accordance with the principles established by the University Senate and is graded on a Pass/Fail basis.

Assessment

A student’s performance in each course is evaluated by the course instructor for every assessment component defined for that course (in-term activities and final exam).
Assessment is carried out on a 100-point scale. At the end of the semester, these scores are converted to letter grades using a relative (norm-referenced / curved) grading method determined by the University Senate, taking into account the class mean and standard deviation.

For more detailed information, please visit the “Grade Evaluation” section.
