General Information
Establishment: As a result of the continuous success and development demonstrated by Niğde School of Social Sciences since its establishment, the Social Security Programme was established in 2011 under the Department of Law and in 2016 under the Department of Property Protection and Security. The programme has been accepting students for regular education every year since the 2012-2013 academic year and for second education from the 2014-2015 academic year until 2023. Our programme will continue its educational life by accepting students only for regular education from 2024 onwards. Graduates of the Social Security Programme are employed in institutions such as private and public banks, the Social Security Institution (SGK), the Social Assistance and Solidarity Foundation (SYDV), the Social Services and Child Protection Agency (SHÇEK), as well as other organisations such as trade unions serving in the private sector and in the field of social security.
Purpose of the Program: To teach basic knowledge and practices related to the social security system under an academic discipline and to meet the need for qualified personnel in this field.
Education - Teaching: The education period of the program is four semesters. In each semester, students take a total of 30 ECTS courses from the elective courses in addition to the compulsory courses. The courses are carried out mainly by lecturers who are experts in their fields.
Internship: At the end of the first year, every student enrolled in the program has to do an industry-based internship for a total of 40 working days.
Opportunities: The program will be carried out in private teaching institutions with a theoretical basis. In addition, general purpose computer laboratories of our college are used for basic information technologies.
Title of Graduates: Graduates of this program receive the title of "Social Security Professional". A social security professional is an intermediate employee who can perform all social security-related transactions of the personnel working in public and private sector enterprises, in document or computer environment, in accordance with the social security legislation.
Vertical Transfer Opportunity: Our graduates can transfer vertically to the Departments of Labor Economics and Industrial Relations, Insurance and Social Security, Social Work, Finance, Business Administration and Economics, and Public Administration, Public Relations, Business and Economics departments of Open Education faculties. After completing his undergraduate education, he graduates with the title of Social Security Specialist. Social worker; providing, restoring, protecting and developing psycho-social functionality by improving the problem-solving and coping capacities of the individual, family, group and society; promoting social change; is a member of the profession who implements social work-specific methods and techniques by making use of theories related to human behavior and social systems in order to plan and implement social policies and programs in order to meet human needs. The education he has received and the equipment he has are of a quality that will facilitate his access to many employment opportunities.
