The Department of Philosophical, Social and Historical Foundations of Education is a department established under the Department of Educational Sciences as an outcome of the restructuring of Education Faculties. It is aimed to train prospective teachers equipped with scientific knowledge in the fields of social, philosophical, and historical foundations of education. Within the framework of the new teacher training program put into practice in 2018, "Sociology of Education", "History of Turkish Education", "Philosophy of Education" courses, which were previously limited as elective courses in programs, are included in all undergraduate programs as compulsory vocational courses.
