Course Objective
The aim of this course is to provide students with the ability to understand the fundamental dynamics of society, social structures, and social relations. It is intended that students who will work in the field of local administrations develop the capacity to analyze social problems, evaluate the relationship between society and the state and consider the social dimension in local governance practices.
Brief Content of the Course
This course examines the concepts of society, social structure and change, culture, values, social institutions, and social relations. In addition, the relationship between local administrations and social structures, the role of local administrations in addressing social problems, and the importance of participatory governance are discussed.
