Course Objective
To have knowledge about the civilizations that emerged in the Middle Ages, Islam, Christianity, Turks and to have knowledge about Rome and Byzantium
Brief Content of the Course
Political structure of Europe in the Middle Ages; Christianity and the religious structure of Europe; religion-state-science relationship (aristocracy-clergy struggle); The socio-economic structure of Europe; Culture and civilization in Medieval Europe (birth of scientific mentality in late Middle Ages Europe, the interaction of Andalusian Umayyads with European and British science, the center of science and philosophy, Thomas Aquinas, Roger Bacon); Political structure of Asia in the Middle Ages; Islam and the religious structure of Asia; Socio-economic structure of Asia in the Middle Ages; Education, science and culture and civilization in Asia (philosophy, science and material civilization elements in Asia).
