Course Objective
The aim of the course is to introduce the concepts of myth and mythology, and to teach Turkish mythological texts and epics from before and after Islam.
Brief Content of the Course
Introduction to the concepts of myth and mythology, examination of Turkish mythological texts and epics before and after Islam. Recognition of common myths within the framework of cultural heritage, starting with the epics of the Turks' creation and origin, and detailed introduction to Turkish mythology and Islamic period epics and mythological elements from an art history perspective.
