Course Objective
Students will be able to comprehend the national and international status of green areas and turf plants, the latest scientific developments about turf plants, gain knowledge about the structural features, quality characteristics, agronomic demands of green areas and grass plants, and gain decision ability to create green spaces. to ensure that they acquire the skills to demonstrate the preference criteria according to the regions with the maintenance and sustainability of the areas.
Brief Content of the Course
Definition, history, importance and functions of green (turf) areas and turf plants in terms of sustainable environment. quality criteria in the green fields and grass plants in the world and Turkey, production techniques and other grass family crops and grass plants in hot climates. Maintenance operations in green areas, principles of establishing grass areas in Mediterranean climatic regions, construction of sports fields, advertising areas, recreation areas.
