Course Objective
The purpose of this course is to identify children at risk and to raise awareness in society about the reasons for risk and precautions that can be taken.
Brief Content of the Course
Who are the children in the risk group? Reasons why children are pushed into the risk group Children’s rights, Children from broken families, Children working/living on the streets and children being pushed into crime, Neglected and abused children, Children pushed into crime/children from convict families, Adoption of children at risk and the related legal process, Mental and emotional development of children staying in foster care and adopted children, Children who are victims of commercial sexual exploitation/Children addicted to technology, Importance of cooperation between professional groups working with children at risk, Factors that will prevent/eliminate risks, Children who are victims of war
