Course Objective

The main purpose of this course is to provide students with the theoretical framework related to language, speech, and communication, and to equip them with comprehensive knowledge about the structural and functional features that constitute the components of language. Within the scope of the course, it is aimed to examine the components of language development and to explain the process of language acquisition in the light of different theoretical approaches and methods. In addition, the course intends for students to become familiar with the assessment tools and methods used in evaluating language development, to analyze variations in language development within the context of different types of disabilities, and to gain practical knowledge about intervention methods applicable in such cases. Thus, students will acquire the competence to integrate theoretical knowledge with practical skills regarding language development by addressing language and communication skills from a multidimensional perspective, both in typically developing individuals and in individuals with special needs
