Course Objective
Must be able to understand basic thermodynamic concepts, energy transformations, properties of pure substances, energy analysis of closed systems, and mass and energy solutions for control volumes.
Brief Content of the Course
Basic concepts (system, environment, change, cycle,), Zeroth law of thermodynamics, heat and business transformation, the thermodynamic properties of pure substances (property relations, pv, Ts diagrams), the ideal gas equation of state of ideal gases and changes, Thermodynamics 1 Law of Thermodynamics 2 Act, Motor cycles, cycles comparison, internal combustion engines work, efficiency, power. The performance characteristics of the engine, fuel, physical and chemical properties, physical analysis of combustion, chemical properties, with spark-ignition engines, combustion, compression-ignition engines burning fuels, hydrocarbons, alcohols and derivatives, the classification of combustion, combustion equations, and analysis of combustion products, statements related to the fuel and the combustion of alternative fuels and combustion, detonation engine combustion sources, fuel evaporation, detonation resistance. Development of energy-efficient, environmentally friendly thermal machines suitable for sustainable development.
