Course Objective
Equilibrium, movements without acceleration, center of gravity, moment of inertia, friction, structural analysis. Applying sustainable design principles
Brief Content of the Course
The basic concepts of mechanics and scalar and vectorel entities, units, Newton's laws, Force systems, two and three dimensional force systems, components, moments, moments and pairs. Equilibrium, free body diagram, two and three dimensional equilibrium conditions. Constructions, plane and space truss systems, joint and cutting methods, frames and machines. Spreading forces, mass and geometric centers of single and multi-piece bodies, Pappus Guldinus theorems, beams, cables. Friction concept and friction principles. Business concept, virtual work, balance, potential energy and stability. Field moments of inertia, partial fields, inertia factors and rotation of axes. Applying sustainable design principles
