Course Objective
The aim of this course is to define the concept of Usul al-Fiqh, to introduce the history and literature of Usul al-Fiqh, the sources of Islamic law, its rulings, the ways of deriving rulings and the concept of ijtihad to the students and to provide them with a methodological approach and perspective.
Brief Content of the Course
In this course, the sources of Islamic law; the ways and rules of deriving rulings from the texts; the philosophical foundations of legal thought in Islam are conveyed.

To provide the ability to understand the definition, purpose, sources, and historical process of Usul al-Fiqh.
