Course Objective
The objective of this course is for each student to make a project related to several real world issues via mapping and geoinformation technologies that consists of following main steps: data compilation from various sources, modeling, analysis, visualization and portrayal.
Brief Content of the Course
Introduction to project design and basic terms, Project management and role of team work; Preparing a proposal and feasibility concept in project, Period of problem solving and decision making; Tendering, report and presentation in engineering; Engineering standards and design constraints, Effects of safety, health and environment in design; Accuracy and cost analysis in engineering, Project planning and schedule; Design project: data capturing and compiling, Data structuring and processing, Data modeling and analysis, Geovisualization, Map design, Map production, Map and geoinformation portrayal and dissemination via information and communication technology
