Course Objective
This course aims at providing the students with knowledge and skills regarding the importance of mouth-teeth health, dental development, factors affecting teeth decay, plaque control, teeth brushing methods, importance of education in mouth and teeth health, and treatment methods in various teeth problems.
Brief Content of the Course
Importance of Mouth and Teeth Health, Formation and development of teeth, Structure of the Tooth, Deciduous and Permanent Teeth, types, symptoms of Dental Diseases and Teeth Decay (definition and underlying factors), and assessment of decay possibility, decay risk classification, factors affecting tooth decay; Mouth flora, Saliva, Bacteria and the structure of bacteria plaque, Teeth, Nutrition, Mouth hygiene, Teeth gum diseases, Dental developmental disorders, Plaque control; plaque control methods, teeth brushing methods, tooth-brushes, tooth-pastes, teeth floss use, gargles, etc. Treatment in teeth and teeth gum diseases; use of antibiotics, channel treatment, denture, orthodontic treatment, etc. Mouth and teeth health in children, pregnancy, old age, individuals with chronic diseases, affects of cigarette on mouth health, importance of education in mouth teeth health; application of individual/patient (child, pregnant, old age, disabled, and special occasions) training programmes
