Course Objective
Stained glass is a painting method made using different painting techniques on glass. In this method, the aesthetic participation of light as a variable in the perception of the design is an important criterion. Stained Glass aims to help students of the painting department learn painting methods on glass in line with space, light and aesthetic values.
Brief Content of the Course
The purpose of the course is explained and general and comprehensive information is given on the types of stained glass that can be applied in the course. Discussions are made on the historical development of the stained glass technique and sample works are presented in chronological order. By presenting examples from current stained glass works, the concept of decorative stained glass is opened to discussion through these examples. Before starting the stained glass design application for a selected space, various methods taught in the previous weeks of the course are experienced in a mixed way on glass. A venue is selected for stained glass application trials. Glass cutting is done at a basic level.
