Course Objective
The aim of this course is to develop students’ understanding of the fundamental concepts, development, and design processes of English language curricula. The course introduces key components such as needs analysis, goal and learning outcome formulation, course planning, and curriculum evaluation. Through the examination of the Ministry of National Education English language curricula and the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR), students gain the ability to interpret and evaluate language teaching programs.
Brief Content of the Course
This course examines the fundamental concepts, historical development, and contemporary approaches to language curriculum design. Topics include needs analysis, formulation of goals and learning outcomes, course planning, and curriculum evaluation. Students analyze the English language curricula developed by the Ministry of National Education across different educational levels and evaluate their alignment with the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR). The course focuses on developing students’ ability to understand, interpret, and evaluate language teaching curricula.
