Course Objective
To introduce semiconductor elements such as diode, BJT, FET, etc., to Electrical and Electronics Engineering students and to give information about their working principles, DC analysis of electronic circuits using these elements, to gain knowledge and skills to analyse and design single and multi-stage amplifier circuits.
Brief Content of the Course
Atomic structure, Energy bands, Electron motion, PN junction and semiconductor diode, Diode types and applications, Structure of BJT, JFET and MOSFETs, Characteristics, Equivalent circuits, Polarisation circuits, DC analysis of multilayer amplifier circuits. Problem solutions.
