Course Objective
To enable students to recognize and appropriately use basic English professional terminology in dentistry; to read and comprehend basic professional and scientific texts; and to develop their ability to use English in basic professional communication situations related to dentistry.
Brief Content of the Course
English terminology specific to dentistry; reading and comprehension of professional texts; basic patient–dentist communication; professional language related to dental radiography, dental caries, dental examination, prosthetic treatments, tooth extractions, restorations, periodontal diseases, oral cancer, orthodontic treatment, root canal treatment, dental specialties, and temporomandibular joint problems; basic reading activities involving scientific dental texts and articles.
