Course Objective
In Environmental Engineering education, to have knowledge about the definition of air pollution and air pollutants and the determination of pollutant sources and the distribution of pollutants in the atmosphere by examining their behavior in the atmosphere, the structure of the atmosphere and atmospheric events, and the understanding of the basic treatment processes of pollutant emissions to be released into the atmosphere and determination of the application steps to ensure a sustainable environment.
Brief Content of the Course
Introduction to air pollution and control, chemical principles and applications in air pollution, thermodynamic approaches and chemical kinetics, aerosols and their properties in atmospheric and air pollution to ensure a sustainable environment. photochemical reactions, atmospheric chemistry of sulfur, nitrogen and carbon compounds, measurement methods in air pollution, evaluation of measurement results, basic principles of retention of particles, particle distributions, sedimentation, centrifuge, filtration, electrostatic precipitation, adsorption, absorption, thermal combustion, chemical oxidation, catalytic oxidation. and working principles and practices of pyrolysis and desulphurization processes, legal legislation and regulations regarding air quality

Identify the problems encountered in air pollutants and their sources on environmental engineering and gain the ability of analysing them.

The determination of air pollutant sources and their behaviours on atmosphere

The structure of atmosphere, the determination of air pollutant distrubition on atmosphere by investigating atmospheric events

To understand the basic treatment operations of pollutant emissions given to the atmosphere and determination of application steps.
