Course Objective
The aim of the Physiology I course is to provide students with an understanding of the basic physiological mechanisms of the human body and homeostatic regulatory processes. The course covers cell physiology, membrane transport mechanisms, muscle and nervous system physiology, blood physiology, and basic neurophysiological mechanisms to help students understand the normal functioning of the human body. In addition, the course aims to develop students’ ability to interpret physiological processes in relation to health and nutrition.
Brief Content of the Course
This course covers introduction to physiology, homeostasis, cell physiology, cell membrane and transport mechanisms, membrane and action potentials, body fluids, muscle physiology, neuromuscular junction, blood physiology, immune system, hemostasis mechanisms, organization of the nervous system, synapses, autonomic nervous system, sensory physiology, and motor system physiology. The course aims to enable students to interpret the normal functioning of the human body by evaluating basic physiological mechanisms.
