Course Objective
The aim of this course is to provide students with an understanding of the cultural and philosophical foundations of sport, its historical development, and its impact on society; and to equip them with the ability to analyze the ethical, aesthetic, and social dimensions of sport.
Brief Content of the Course
The historical development of sports, fundamental concepts of sports philosophy, cultural and social dimensions of sports, ethical and aesthetic approaches, sports and social values, Olympism and universal principles of sports, ethical issues in sports, and contemporary debates in sports philosophy are examined within the scope of this course.
