Course Objective
The aim of this course is to comprehensively examine the concept of smart grids that has emerged from the transformation of traditional power grid systems, and to enable students to understand the relationship between smart grid technologies and renewable energy resources, as well as their consumer-oriented structure.
Brief Content of the Course
This course covers the need for smart grids, fundamental concepts of smart grids, supply–demand relationships in modern power systems, transmission and distribution networks, system reliability, structures and characteristics of smart grids, smart grid system architecture, communication technologies, and the integration of renewable energy resources into the grid.

Being able to understand and compare modern power grid systems and smart grid technologies, and explain the differences and relationships between them.

Having ability to explain the relationship between smart grid technologies and renewable energy resources.

Ability to understand and evaluate the contribution of smart grid systems to energy efficiency and the reduction of environmental pollution.

Ability to identify the application components used in smart grid systems and demonstrate the necessary technical knowledge and design capability in terms of information and communication technologies.
