2026-2027 Fall Semester Orientation Training Held

A comprehensive orientation program was held for students newly enrolled in the First and Emergency Aid Program at Niğde Ömer Halisdemir University’s Zübeyde Hanım Vocational School of Health Services. Through this program, students had the opportunity to familiarize themselves with both the academic environment where they will study and the social and physical facilities offered by the university.

Conducted by Lecturer Aysel Ergene, a faculty member of the First and Emergency Aid Program, the orientation aimed to help students—who are just beginning their university journey—adapt more quickly to academic and social life and effectively utilize the opportunities provided by the university.

University Life Introduced Up Close: From Campus to Laboratories

As part of the orientation, students were informed about the academic and administrative structures of both Niğde Ömer Halisdemir University and the Zübeyde Hanım Vocational School of Health Services. Academic and administrative units that students might need during their education were introduced, and they were informed about which units to contact for specific types of support.

The program also included a tour of the campus and the vocational school's physical facilities. Classrooms, laboratories used for the First and Emergency Aid Program’s practical training, the cafeteria, and other social and communal areas available to students were showcased. This allowed students to see the campus facilities firsthand and gain familiarity with university life right at the start of their education.

Informed About the Paramedic Training Process

The educational structure of the First and Emergency Aid Program was also covered in detail during the orientation session. Students were briefed on the conduct of theoretical and practical courses, laboratory practices, vocational training processes, assessment and evaluation methods, and the academic and professional responsibilities expected of them.

Highlighting that emergency health services is a vital field that directly impacts human lives, the session emphasized the importance of training future paramedics who possess not only theoretical knowledge but also practical skills, teamwork abilities, effective communication, a commitment to ethical values, a focus on patient safety, and an awareness of professional responsibility.

The Student's Role in Quality and Accreditation Processes Explained

As part of the training, students were informed about the quality assurance and MEDEK accreditation initiatives carried out within the First and Emergency Aid Program. It was emphasized that students are key stakeholders in quality processes, noting that their views and feedback are essential for the continuous improvement of educational quality.

Students were also informed about the program's objectives and learning outcomes; it was conveyed that their active participation in educational processes and the sharing of their views through appropriate channels would significantly contribute to the program's continuous improvement.

A New Beginning, A Strong Professional Journey

Concluding with a session addressing students' questions, the orientation program enabled new students to gain a close familiarity with the university, the vocational school, academic and administrative units, laboratories, the cafeteria, and campus facilities, thereby allowing them to embark on their educational journey with greater awareness and preparedness. As the First and Emergency Aid Program at Zübeyde Hanım Vocational School of Health Services, we continue to support our students' academic, professional, and personal development from the moment they take their first step into the university until the day they are sent off to their professional lives.
