Our Vocational School hosted an exemplary event that brought together technology and culture as part of the Domestic Products Week celebrated on December 11-12, 2025. The TÜBİTAK 2209-A project titled “Awareness of the National Operating System PARDUS on University Campus,” conducted by the Computer Technologies Department, was implemented through peer education, online participation by a TÜBİTAK ULAKBİM official, and a technical field trip. One of the most notable aspects of the training, organized under the supervision of Computer Programming Program Instructor Fatma BARKUŞ, was the participation of TÜBİTAK ULAKBİM Pardus Project Manager Şenol ALDIBAŞ via remote connection (online). In this project, the "Peer Education" model, where students educate each other, was implemented to introduce our national operating system and raise awareness about open-source software. The event was supported by Niğde Ömer Halisdemir University Rector Prof. Dr. Hasan USLU, Bor Mayor Serkan BARAN, and Bor Vocational School Acting Director Prof. Dr. Hakan DEMİR. Bor Mayor Serkan Baran, who sponsored the t-shirts worn by the project team and participating students throughout the training, concretely demonstrated his commitment to the technological development of young people.
